Oregon’s public investments should protect human rights, not fund harm.

The Oregon for Human Rights Coalition is organizing for ethical public investments through divestment and a Human Rights Screen for Oregon’s state and local funds. Oregon invests billions of public dollars. Those investments should align with the values of our communities. Companies that profit from human rights abuses should not benefit from Oregon’s public investments.

What we are fighting for.

Divestment

We are calling on Oregon Treasurer Elizabeth Steiner to take administrative action and divest state funds from corporations with documented human rights concerns, including Palantir, GEO Group, and CoreCivic.

A Human Rights Screen

We are working with legislators to introduce legislation creating a Human Rights Screen for Oregon’s investments. This policy would ensure human rights considerations are part of how public funds are invested.

Local Action

Cities across Oregon can lead the way by creating ethical investment standards in their own communities.
